Joddwallgate is a beautifully
renovated house in the centre of the small, friendly farming village of
Kerfourn in Southern Brittany. The house has been carefully and lovingly
restored.
The village is delightful and
is situated in the Department of Morbihan in South Central Brittany, it
is extremely quiet and offers minimal but adequate local services. There
is a Boulangerie within smelling distance, a small general store and a
bar within ‘crawling distance’. In addition there is a pretty local church,
pitches for boules and a Mairie.
Less than half a mile away there
is a well stocked trout and course lake where you can fish all day for
£2.50. Fishing tackle is available to borrow at no charge. Bikes are available.
Pontivy is a fairly large town
some 5 miles away and here you can find a wealth of restaurants, night
clubs, cinemas, swimming pools and shopping opportunities to suit all
tastes. Pontivy is the only town in France to be named after Napoleon
Bonaparte and is built on the attractive Nantes-Brest canal and Blavet
river system. The town also has an interesting chateau and museums. Approximately
12 miles away lies the pretty medieval town of Josselin with its imposing
Chateau ramparts and doll Museum. The nearest beaches to Kerfourn are
about 35 minutes drive away but what beaches they are!
